Kuhli loaches and killifish or hatchets. 5 Kuhli with 6-7 killifish/hatchets. The loaches will stay on the bottom and be fun to try and find and watch and the killi/hatchets will eat right off the top so you can feed them just about any live food that floats including flightless fruitflies, mealworm larva (the small ones) and many other floating foods.

Use a small substrate for the kuhliis and have a few floating plants for the killis to ambush their food from underneath.

11 gallon tank
fancy guppies are beautiful to watch in groups, you could get some nice corys with them, like the juli cory, or you could get one of those blue lobsters,!

i would deffinately get kuhli or skunk loaches. they are so cool looking. killis are nice and i want to get some one day. i would recomend them too. hachets are all right but i think there are nicer fish out there. guppies are beautiful but if you want something more unique or exotic i would get something like knifefish, monos(make sure they are small ones), rainbow fish, bettas, rams, blind cave fish, black neon tetras, rummynose tetras(i know they arent too exotic but they are so cute), clown rasboras or dwarf cichlids maybe. just be careful with the knifefish and monos. they can get pretty big and you may have to exchange them when they do.

good luck choosing! there are soooo many great fish out there!

i thought the kuhli loach needed more space then a 10gal

I am not sure about the needs of a Kuhlii. I have seen sources say they need a 10 gallon but then they say you can out 10 of them in it. I know, at 3 inches each that comes to 30 inches. But these are sources I trust. Then I see a source that says 2-3 in a 10 gallon with a number of small fish with them.

I think I will start a thread to see what everyone else has done so we can get some sort of concensious with members on it.
