Gyppy fry and airstones
 

ok...so i just got a 10 gal aquarium set up, and have about 20 fry in it, im wondering...i had an underwater gravel filter in it...and am switching to a 10 gal in tank whisper filter today...
do they need the air stone? or will the filter cause enough movement in the water to keep the air oxegynated...the tank is only filled to about 7 gals as there is a crack in the side of it above that...

As long as there is some kind of water movement by a fitler, there will be enough oxygen in the water. With the water level you have, it will splash the water surface around enough to create bubbles.

with it on...its creating a current is that gonna be too much for the babies? it seems quite strong...
its a 10 gal filter...and i dont think i can turn it down

lol...i think i kinda figured it out...the thing that holds it to the top of the tank clips off...so i took it off and used the thermometer to prop the top so that the water is just above the tank water level so it isnt cascading as far...creating less turbulent...the bottom is suction cupped on to the side of the tank...should work for a fry tank anyways...

BTW...can you treat babies for ick? will it hurt them? some of them have white spots on them...fuzzy though...not really ick looking...

if its not ich looking why treat it for it?


if you have a hob you dont need a air pump

I grew 2 guppies every since they were invisible swiming eyebals in a breeding net inside a 10 gallon tank with only a filter and a heater. thats all, they dont need much. A lot of food they do need.
