Now then..

Hello folks,
I'm Rhys from Yorkshire (UK), recently set up a tropical tank as I was given a freshwater tank with accessories. Decided to bung a heater in it as I didn't want boring goldfish (was for the kids lol).

I used to run the aquatics department of a garden centre donkies years ago - but was mainly ponds and pond fish. Been a long tome since then - ironically most of the fish we have are from the aquatics shop that lives there now which is completely different and is an external company.

Did a google and this forum was the first that cropped up so I joined, hope to trawl though when I get time and read up on bits and pieces.

Hope to post more and get advice etc but for now just saying hello! http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/welcome.gif

Hello Rhys and welcome to TFK

What size tank are you setting up? Any thoughts on what fish will be going in?

We've set a tank up, approx 65 litre.
Have the following..

5 five Banded Barbs
3 Dwarf Gourami
4 Assorted Guppy (had 5 but one snuffed it)
3 Trilineatus Corydoras

Plus some assorted plants suitable for a single light with no nitro injection (first time I'd ever heard of this lol)
Got a couple of bits of swamp wood with plants attached. Been going for a few weeks now.

SWMBO wants more fish but I don't want to stock it too fast or overstock it.

Welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.

You mentioned a 65 litre aquarium, which equates to < 20 US gallons. If the fish you list are all in there now, I would not consider any more.

Byron.

Thanks Byron, I was wondering how many I could put in there - considering they've got to grow. I doubt very much we'll get any more. Cheers :)
