I just noticed this morning that my betta has a white spot by his tail and it looks as if the scales that were over it were scraped off or something. It's not ich, I can tell that much, and the spot isn't fuzzy or anything. It's like the white spot "popped" through the scales. I don't know.
Background information: The betta was in our 20 gallon tank with our guppies. They didn't bother each other. My neighbor moved and had 4 goldfish they couldn't take with them, so they gave them to us. I put them in the tank with the betta and the guppies, knowing that the betta could react to the goldfish I stood there and watched. He did get upset with the goldfish, never attacked, but was real close to it, so I removed the betta and put him back in his own tank. That was on Sunday. He's lost his appetite and now hangs out at the bottom of the tank. I don't know whether to be conserned or whether he's just depressed because he's in his small tank again.
What are your water parameters? Pictures of the "white spot"? What's the appearance of his poo?
I'll get photos of the white spot for you. The parameters are normal, I'll get you specifics as well. Not sure what his "poo" looks like. Do you really need to know that?
