Hello fellow fish-fiends!!!
Hi everyone! My name is Leslie and I have been fish-keeping since the age of 18 (now 29). I got into it when I won a goldfish at a local fair and he died the next day. I knew I had to have more though. I went out and got another goldfish since I had already purchased a lil bowl and everything I thought I needed for his care. I then asked for a 10 gallon for my next birthday, which I received. I really, really though I knew what I was doing. When the tank would get so green I couldn't see the fish, I would take all the fish out and put them in the bowl that my goldfish had earlier called a home (he was now in the 10 gallon with some asst tropical fish) and dump all the water from the tank. I would then thoroughly clean the tank and the gravel, plus all the ornaments, which I now know, is a BIG NO-NO.. lol. I would then put fresh water in with some water conditioner and throw all the fish back in. I eventually lost all of them and gave up for a little while. Around 2 years later, I tried another 10 gallon, and some platys and a pleco. This time I did tons of research and with the success of a good tank came tons and tons of baby platys. I was overwhelmed with so many... lol... and set up another 10, and finally went out and got a nice 29. That was exciting. Eventually I had 5 up and running tanks at once. I had major success, and have learned so much since my first days as a fish-keeper. I love the hobby, and I am actually the person people come to when they are having trouble with their tanks. I am proud to say I usually know how to help without doing any research. Right now I have a 55 gallon with 3 silver dollars, 2 black fin tetras and a glass catfish. I used to have a lot more but my busy schedule prevented me from doing the maintenance I needed to and I had a HUGE loss in my tank. I hope once I get everything under control again I can get some more clown loaches. They are my fav and it also gives me a reason to get an even bigger tank eventually! I hope I can learn some things from everyone and maybe, just maybe, you can learn a thing or two from me. Looking forward to more interaction with everyone :-D

Hi Leslie, welcome to TFK. We are glad you joined us. I'm a huge loach fan and my clowns are some of my favorite fish. I hope you're able to get a big tank and get some more soon. They are so much fun to watch. :-)
