? about bioload
 

Do corals and such add bioload like fish , I mean I see tanks with fish corals and such and I am guessing not but I am new so I was just wondering and how do you know how many you can add . Are saltwater fish like fresh water can you skip a feeding for a few days or must you feed everything reg every day . Boy I sure I am learning a lot. Thanks Pat

Bioload really doesn't factor much into marine care. The aggression of the livestock will limit your stocking list far before a properly set up marine system will have issues with excess waste.

That being said, yes, corals do contribute to bioload.

No need to feed fish everyday. I have gone to feeding 3 days a week, Mysis one day and Roamine Lettuce the other 2. Corals are actually a higher bio load than the fish. When you are reading high end Skimmers it will give you its rating for a Fish Only, then another number for Corals.
