Even that won't make you rich. What you are looking for is extremely difficult especially with livebearers. Out of livebearers I think guppies and swordtails would be your better bet. Sailfin swordtails and show quality guppies seem to have higher value then most. Normally though this inversely relates with the ease and rate of reproduction. Its the reason livebears are normally cheap fish and species like discus and exotic plecos are so expensive.
When you get into breeding fish everything is about genetics which can get overly complicated. Not everything is possible. And when developing a strain you need to worry about the genetic health and viability of the strain as it becomes more and more inbred.
There are certainly interesting and amazing strains out there, they do not exactly coincide with popular though. I'm assuming your probably looking for a pretty colorful fish. Either way when ever livebearer breeding comes up I always remember these see-thru or trasparent guppies. Leave it up to a research lab to do the opposite of everyone else:lol:. I think this strain is pretty amazing as far as selective breeding goes. |
