Project: Desk Aquarium!

Hello,

I already have a 2ft aquarium setup across the room, I love to lay in bed at night and watch the shrimp run around hopelessly with other fish, Im a programmer and love my desk and my computer, Its huge and recently downgraded the monitor size from 4 19" TFTs down to 1 20" TFT, Which left me with tons of space on my desk.

I noticed i had a 1ft tank spare (and as so happens) also with a spare heater, just need to fetch a filter Thursday and some wallpaper for the background.

The tank came as is, Just a glass tank, no lighting, I had a 18x led-strip around with a hamster cage, so cut the bars of the hamster cage to build a holding bridge for the tank, from one end to the other nicely fitting tight enough not to slip into the tank, Its 12v DC 1amp so connecting up to my machines PSU was perfect!

It has 1 live plant with a few rocks it will be a while before the tank has fully cycled so no fish are present yet, but here's some photos!

Also, for "wallpaper" for the background, make sure it's dark and subtle to make the fish happy! :)

AND! Welcome to TFK!!

Hello and welcome to TFK :-D Yes it is nice having a tank in the bedroom, one of the first sights that meets me in the morning, and a calming sound to fall asleep to at night. The links for your photos did not work.

Looks good with the background :) The tank is looking nice. Do you have any plans for more plants?

Not realy, perhaps a few more, My other tank is packed with them but since this is a small tank i dont want to overdue it.

Yh black gravel does definatly stand out, I had a 2ft tank with 3 goldfish i recently sold to my mum, I used dark broken up slate for the gravel and the bright orange on the fish stood out like a light in the dark it was amazing!
