intake tube

I have a H.O.B. filter, was just wondering how low should the intake tube be. I currently have it as low to the bottom of tank as I can get. Should it be moved up? What are the pros/cons of where it is adjusted. Have a 55 gallon tank.

Mine is about halfway up...maybe a little higher. I've never had issues with it being at that height. Not sure if there are pros or cons for tube height but I'd be interested to see what others have to say.

I think its usually recommended to keep them about 1-2 inches off the substrate if possible for maximum circulation but will probably do fine anywhere near the middle.

i agree, the farther from the output the better water turn over.

Approximately 4" off the bottom, but there are no laws on the books ;-)
