I have a breeding pair of jewels. unfotunatly they were unsuccessful their first time around. Now the male seems to be hating on the female. a bit aggressive. Is this normal and will it stop? I heard they will have some more eggs in about three weeks. These fish are dedicated to one partner for life.
If left to choose there own partner they will, you cannot force one to mate with another you choose. Did you buy them as a breeding pair or is it a I have a male and female, they will naturally mate ? :D

I bought three of them as babies. Two of them have became a couple. They have layed eggs and guarded them for a couple days and then the eggs disapeared. I believe they were not fertilized. My concern is the couple. Tmale male seems pissed at the female. Willl this stop or is he going to stress her to death?
He may well, what happened to the 3rd ? have they enough space to escape for a while ?

I have seperated my tank for the time being. I put the female on the other side just to be chased by the other male. I thought she would do better with her mate.
Higher female to male ratio would suit you better, take all the stress of the one female.

unfortunatly I bought them as babies. They are difficult to tell apart. Maybe I will get rid of the other male. To bad they are such pretty fish.

See if you can trade the male for another female. I never thought about getting these fish, but my daughter wanted them as they look cool. So I have a male and female and hoe that they do a few rounds of loving.
