55gallon + tiger barbs
 

hello all, i have a 55 gallon tank and just purchased 10 tiger barbs. they were on sale, 10 for $10 :shock: . i couldn't resist and ended up with 10 barbs since i had been wanting some anyways. anyways, i assume 10 barbs will fit in a 55 gallon tank? and does anyone know what size they will reach in a 55?

55g will be fine for the 10 barbs.

I think they can reach 3" but usually they stay smaller.

i have 10 in a 30 gallon- so you will be fine. i have half large sized (3inches) and half are the small variety- they are about 1.5 inches and have stayed that small for 7 months...not going to get any bigger. average size is 2.5 inches-3 inches. green ones get a little bigger. really fun fish! glad to see someone finally buying them in a large group (thats the way it should be!)
