barb/minnow compatability

i'm planning a future tank and am considering golden, odessa, or rosy barbs and i want white cloud mountain minnows. according to the profiles, all three of those barbs get up to 3 inches and the minnows are only about and inch and a half. am i likely to have a problem with the barbs eating the minnows? none of the profiles say they are specifically predatory, but i thought i'd see if anyone has any experience with them and can help.
