emerald green and spotted cory behavior question
I have a new tank. i got a green emerald and two spotted corys at petco. Green cory was all by itself and two spotted were left. Since they should be in group of three the lady said it woyld be perfect. They get along great. My question is they are very active swimming about and appear to be having a great time. is tgis normal or are they stressed? They have been in new tank for four days. Ph 6.8 water is soft.
Corys generally do not like being moved, so they frequently respond by higher-than-normal activity. Constantly swimming up and down the side of the tank, or lengthwise along the rear or front glass, singly or in groups. They will settle provided all else is OK, sometimes in hours, sometimes days, sometimes a few weeks. Normal cruising will be slower than this frantic activity.
Is the Emerald a true cory, Corydoras aeneus, or is it Brochis splendens? Check the profiles (click the shaded names), they describe the difference and there are photos, the dorsal fin is the key.
