water on the floor......ugh!

So I go downstairs to my basement just to find water everywhere. It looks to me it was my toilet leaking so I fix that. I go back down there ins couple of days just find out nope that wasn't the problem but my water heater has sprung a leak......ugh!!! Now I have a basement full of water and no hot water. :-(

Oh that is not fun, water every where and no hot water :-( Have had to clean flooded basements a few times, my parents old washer machine would sometimes overflow and not drain correctly into the laundry tub. Go downstairs to find water meeting you at the bottom of the stairs. I think the worst flood in their basement though was when the water line for the spigot out front developed a leak. Was back when I was in highschool, and I had just used that spigot to wash my car, did not realize that there was a problem until my dad got home from work went down in the basement to find it flooded with water along with his old stereo equipment sitting in water  What a mess.

Its just a big mess plus there goes all my overtime money LoL

Isn't that they way it goes usually, get a little bit of extra money in and than something unexpected comes along  Wet dry vac and fans will help with the basement. Hopefully not too much damage occurred.

Just a bunch of wet stuff but no damage. Basement is unfinished and just storage.

No not the best way @ all. It gets better though! After being a work for a couple of hours get a phone call from the wife. She has a migraine and is throwing up so I had to leave to go back home to watch the kids till bed time. I put them to bed check on my wife and come back to work. All that took me 3 1/2 hours. She is doing better now and all is good but man I still have 4 hours left in my day what else can go wrong!?!

I know those type of days, sometimes it seems like when it rains, it pours, and not only pours but seems like your in a monsoon ;-) At least your work place is flexable enough to let you be able to help your wife out, and the kids got to have dad put them to bed tonight. As the saying goes, there is a silver lining around each cloud, just sometimes I think it can be hard to see that silver lining.
