Eheim 2217 Question
 

My 72g was delivered today and I need to get the filter set up...

I have a Eheim 2217 and when I opened it I have two packages of EHEIM Mech and one big package of EHEIM substrate.

The directions are a little sparse in my opinon..

Does it go like this..

1. One (1) package of the mech

2. blue pad

3. all of the substrate

4. white pad

and then the black pad for a period of time or not at all

I appreciate any help you can provide..

I can be of no help here but I wanted to post because I absolutely love your quote "If it doesn't work, read the directions. If it still doesn't work, follow them!!"

Yes that's the order. I run my 2213 the same way (well almost). The black pad is a carbon pad and I don't use it. Also my white pad got really nasty and I have been using filter floss instead as the white pads are a little to much for me to keep replacing.
