finrot medicine help

hi, i have a female betta with finrot, which i am treating with interpet no 8 anti fungus and finrot. on the instructions it say dose it with the med, then water change after 7 days and redose if necessary. i thought you should keep the water as clean as poss so should i do 25% water changes evry day and redose with the appropriate amount?

That is really a catch 22 situation. We want to kepe the water as healthy as possible but doing extra water changes with an ill fish only stresses them out even ore because they are weak form the infection or fin rot.

When I treat for fin rot, fungus or anything else I follow the instruction exactly. After all, we all hope that the instructions have been researched and are are that specific for a reason.

But if it works, then keep doing it. After all fish keeping is a science and in science very few things can be done only one way and get the same result. Just watch the fish to make sure it is improving. If it is getting better than you must be doing something right.

ok seen as its only a 5 gallon hospital, i think ill just change about 1/2 a litre then, just so that ammonia is kept down.
