Pikes! Just got them today! They are acclimating and I snapped a few bad pics. :-) http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...8/IMAG0462.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...8/IMAG0463.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...8/IMAG0465.jpg They were marked "Emerald Pike Cichlids" I know there are quite a few bunched into that group. I slightly redecorated my 46. Once I get them in the tank and the lights are back over the tank I'll get some shots. |
How many did you get? I've never ever seen or heard of those before! Didn't find much on Google either. Can't wait to see more pics. |
You may want to figure out what type of Pike Cichlid you have. After doing a quick google search, there are several Dwarf Pikes that only reach 3-4 inches, some that get 6-10 inches and some that reach 18-24 inches. You could run into some stocking issues in your tank depending on the species. Very pretty fish though, hope it works out. |
Pretty sure they are Crenicichla sp. 'venezuela' http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...1&d=1181362167 They get 14-20 inches. I'm moving across the country in either Dec or Apr and then I will get a big tank for them. I have a video of their first feeding. I'll upload it to youtube and post it... |

I got 3 since I only have a 46g right now. I have a better camera now so hopefully I can get some decent pictures. |

Yeah tell me about it. Hoping I can have a Bichir in the tank also. Thinking around 150g or so. Maybe 300? :-) |
