How Many Watts
Should I have 4 wpgs for a 40 gallon 20 inches deep, or 78. I know that there are many variables to this, but I will grow swords, hair grass, and such . I now 4 wigs will allow me a lot but is more money, 78 should be good right?
sorry 78 watts... which puts me at 2.05 wpgs
The type of lighting also affects this, T5, T8 [I assume we are thinking fluorescent tube light of some sort], then the spectrum. Then nutrients--CO2 or not?
yes they will be Co2 and i will dose flourish... also it is a fertilized substrate
Then to answer your initial question with this info in mind, two T5 tubes at the length for the tank should work. That is a lot of light. May have to control duration, depending upon nutrients. Flourish Comp might get a bit expensive, and it is not really intended for high-tech setups, the balance is out. Might be best looking into the other Flourish products (individual nutrients and trace elements) or dry ferts.
will look into it... thanks
