Quite a mess on my hands. I have a single tube hood. I know, I know, It was a really big mistake. However I am in the process of getting a compact flourescent hood for my 30 gallon tank. What can I do to at least keep my plants alive until that arrives. I have a flora-glo tube that is on for about 11 hours a day. I use a liquid fertilizer and have tablets that I just havent put in yet. Should I put them in. And this is a rediculous question but could I grow the plants on my single tube? I have Green and White Ancorous Water Wisteria Java Fern Moneywort anddd Micro Sword. Thanks everyone for your continuing help. |
Use the tablets and bury them near the plant roots. A single tube provides only what the low-lighting plants need. |
how long until you get the cf lighting? you could try to add one or two screw in power compact bulbs over the tank. that will bump your light up some in the mean time. |
good news everyone, my cf lighting fixture is on the way. it should be here within the next week says liveaquaria.com its a single tube sattelite fixture with a lunar led. 65 watts, which will put me at just over 2 watts per gallon. |
if any of them start to go down hill you could float them. if they are ok now they should be fine in the week or so it takes them to show up. |
What is your green and white ancorus? Do you have a pic? I might be forgetting something but it is probably Dracena sanderiana which is non-aquatic. Also, what kind of substrate do you have? In my experience, micro sword, along with good lighting, requires a nutrient rich substrate or gravel supplement tabs which are really cheap. Feel free to ask anything, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! |
I have seachem flourite substrate andd here is a picture of that anchorus http://fishforum.com/userpix/1210_Picture_064_2.jpg the one all the way in the back :) |
