From that photo I'm not sure of the species, it may be Puntius semifasciolatus, you can check the photo and data in our profile. Click the shaded name to see the profile. You can browse through the other barbs included as well.

This species is Puntius shalynius, it is available in Asia in the prestine natural habitats, but not sure if available in other parts of the world. It is a natural aquarium fish in which males are very colorful during breeding season than females.

That is a species new to me, and one I've not seen locally in stores. According to Fishbase, it occurs in Assam and Meghalaya in India.
