Thanks...I had a ball taking the pics. Here is a snippet from ninemsn's report on the lunar eclipse...

Australians flocked outdoors last night to get a better glimpse of the full lunar eclipse that turned the moon blood red.

The earth, sun and moon fell into perfect alignment for the first time since July 2000. The phenomenon was visible to the naked eye anywhere in Australia.

Tracey:

While you have your camera out and batteries charged up how about some photos of the Southern Cross?

As I have never been south of Del Rio, Texas I have never seen it.

Those pics are fabulous. I got some but now that I have seen your I wouldn't even post them, they are terrible. But they are the best I could get with a bsic digital camera.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of Camera and lenses did you use? I have wanted a good camera for years and with the shots you got I may have found the one I need to save for.
