suitable fishes to have in 20G unplanted tank?
i started my tank with one shubunkin for more than one month now and its working fine. The fish shopkeeper advised me to add silver sharks to my tank as they are compatible with my shubunkin. i added two of them recently.
Later on many people advised me that these two types are not suitable in 20G tank.
what should i do now? should i return them back or what?
if so, what are the suitable fishes to have in my tank ????
the tank is running for one month now. Water temp in summer 29-30 oC and not going down but this for 3 months only, after that it drops and i use heater to keep the water temp at 25 C.
I would certainly take back the silver sharks. I am surprised the lfs said they were compatible as both species require different water parameters. They are also all fish that can grow quite large and they would outgrow a 20g tank fairly quickly. The best fish compatible with Shubunkin are comets, common gold fish and koi. All fish that would require a much larger tank or a pond.
if i were you i would take them all back.
then you could get almost anything really, swords, mollies, danios, gouramies, tetras, barbs.... the list goes on
hope you enjoy your new hobby.
