ive got one Zebra Danio looking quite large in the belly, has appeared more or less in last couple of days she has always been bigger since i had them about 2 months ago and still bossing the others around would it be ok to leave her in the tank with other fish until after they have been fertilised then move them? i have another tank but have some other fish in it at the moment id like to swap them over if the eggs will hatch but ideally not until then. This is partly due to being at work in the day so dont wanna mess about also is there a condition intead of her being pregnant please?
it is possible that she is full of eggs because danios to breed easily. you should ideally get a spawning mop if you want to keep the eggs. the parents will eat them as they are being scattered
they sit on the bottom of the tank and the eggs fall through and can not be reached by the parents therefor protecting them
any website for ideas please?
Just so you know, weather a male is fertilizing her eggs or not she drops eggs every morning, and their so tiny, hard to see in gravel or sand, so if you notice 2 of yours spawning, take those 2 and put them in another tank with no other fish in it, and add lager rocks, like river rocks, and let them spawn, i did this and waited 24 hours before taking and adding them back to their tank and i removed all the rocks and counted up to 60 eggs that hatched in this small tank, they lived for about 3 weeks, but i was only home on weekends at the time so i wasnt there to feed them and do water changes, but from what i heard if you get the babies hatched the first 2 weeks are said to be the hardest for raising them
