Ok i bought a powerehead, gravel, artificial plants, activating carbon, driftwood, caves etc should i put all these items when cycling my tank(the tank is brand new) ;)
thank you for your help
Re: Cycling Help!
1. What type of filter are you using, and
2. Are you cycling the tank with fish or with ammonia?
Don't add carbon to the filter - I only use this when I'm removing meds after a course of treatment. It won't serve any purpose whilst cycling.
Add the gravel and all the tank ornaments etc, as these will help hold beneficial bacteria.
Also, do you have a liquid testing kit yet?
You'll need to have tests for Ammonia, pH, Nitrite and Nitrate.
2 filers actually
-1 is a power filter that is regent for 30-60 gallon aquariums(i know i only have 5 gals to spare so i bought another filter ;)
-the other is a biowheel for 15-30 galls
kk i wont ;)
i will ;)
and yes i have liquid test kits more like 3 for each thing ex. nitrate, nitrite,ph,iron, and ammonia(i bough only 1 pack of test srips when i dont want to waste the liquid(ps-i think ill use it for track my tank when making comments ;) )
thanks for the help!
