How do my plants look?
I've been battling a bit of thread algae in my tank recently and pruned off a bunch of over-infected leaves from the tank.
So now, I would assume, only the better looking, healthier plants and shoots remain. Can anyone give me insight to how my plants are looking? I would appreciate it.
Pardon the scape itself... I removed stuff and knocked things around :-( It's going to be divided for a week or two anyway, so at this point, I almost dont care (hah!) Im also missing a bunch of rocks and some wood.
Sorry they're big.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7...2023.19.11.jpg Dwarf hairgrass.. Stole it from my Bf's tank (lol) and its growing back after almost dying... Hows it looking otherwise?
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-5...2023.19.48.jpg One of the ferns.. Rebounding nicely from being almost dead in those petsmart tubes.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-6...2023.21.05.jpgThe other fern... Shipped to me missing a huge chunk (center right), but seems to be fine.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-P...2023.21.22.jpg I have these on one plant..one was a bit more sickly than the other... What are these spots? Deficiency? There are some around the tips of the plant, too. :(
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-T...2023.17.53.jpg The young swords. I got them at not even an inch, now theyre growing well :) Ive been trimming off the dying leaves.
Im really new to swords, though. I hope it looks good.
Thanks for looking. I'm really paranoid after all that crud was on my leaves :( I want them to be healthy and happy! I'm also a bit new to things, so help is nice... :-)
On the bad day...
I'm pretty sure the second 'fern' isn't a true aquatic... The other 'fern' is a java fern. The black spots are normal...
blackened leaves are just death, but if you have any yellow or clear leaves, it's usually a nutrient defeciency.
yeah looks like the second one can be found in my garden.you might wanna check on that
also, just about convinced that your moss is actually cladophora algae... (same type as in 'marimo' moss balls)
Not a bad thing, just wanted to let you know. (I wish I had cladophora... looks nice)
And no-its not moss, but a broken up moss ball :D I snuck one away from my boyfriend, who got them on ebay. They've kept mold and nasties from building up on the wood, which is fantastic!
Not bad for $.50 a mini moss ball!
And the fern in question... Im not sure, either. But, so far, so good. Its been a few weeks with it and no issues. I've seen these same ferns in other, professional tanks- but whether or not this is one, who knows!
It's managed to produce advantageous plants of yet... A bunch of them. If it fouls and dies, Ill remove it :D
Sorry for the lack of reply... Posts made in TFK never show up in my subscribed threads list :C Gotta hunt for them when I remember to check! Bargh.
You have to set it up, maybe you didn't? Under UserCP, click "Settings & Options" then click "Edit Options." Under "Messaging and Notification" you see "Default Thread Subscription Mode" with a drop-down list. If "Do not subscribe" shows, that is why. Click one of the lower choices, doesn't matter which, the first "No email notification" means you won't get emails (on your non-forum email) but you will be subscribed to any thread you post in. To find them, click under "Quick Links" on the far right of the blue bar and "Subscribed Threads" under "Miscellaneous."
