New Plants Cloudy Tank

I bought 3 different plants today aint got a clue what they were called now (sorry) It seems the moment they went in the tanks gone cloudy is this normal?

I already had fish in the tank before but first plants ever?

I would guess that you just stirred up the substrate... It's also possible that there was calcium in the rockwool the plants were potted in if they were potted...

Regardless, do a water change and eventually it will clear. (BTW, assuming white cloudiness?)

yes white cloudy to go with yellow/brown mopani wood colour starting to look dirty i dont like it!

Caution. If you have Mopani wood in the tank and the water is getting slightly cloudy, check the wood for fungus (white growth on the wood somewhere). The cloudiness if it is related to the fungus will kill fish. I had this occur, as did another aquarist I know.

It could also be the substrate. Just a caution.

Byron.

Fungus comes in many, many species, and while some are toxic others are not. Mopani wood seems prone to toxic fungus, and that will kill fish. Other white fungus can be harmless. I'm not saying this is what you have, just a caution for those reading this thread so they don't jump to conclusions.
