Acclimating fish from brackish to fresh
 

I'm wanting to get a couple of salmon tail catfish (Arius berneyi). I have had these in the past and they are great! My problem this time around is that they are being kept brackish in the lfs and are apparently wildcaught. From my knowledge this species is predominately freshwater but is found in coastal areas. What is the best way for me to acclimate these guys to fresh? And do u think they will do ok in fresh if they have been in brackish most of their life? They are still juveniles, about 10-15cm length.

Not a whole lot of information out there about these guys. It says they do fine in freshwater, shouldn't matter if they've been in brackish. As to switching them over. Maybe just do small water changes, like 10% every 3 days or so and not add more salt. You will probably have to set up a tank just for them to acclimate them. Try to match the tank to the fish store at first.
