Tropical Fish Keeping - Aquarium fish care and resources - Unidentified Eggs

Hello everyone!

My hubby was cleaning our 55 gallon tank, cutting back some of the spiralis leaves that were becoming overgrown, just floating in tangles at the top of the water. Since we recently found a baby hillstream loach, I had him check the cuttings just in case the baby happened to be on one of them.

He found what looked like clear slimey goo in the shape of a few big, round bubbles underneath one of the leaves and placed it in our nano aquarium under the bright light just in case they were eggs. We've been inspecting them closely and they do look like eggs - we can see transparent little dots in the slimey bubbles now.

We currently have cardinal tetras, panda corys, clown loaches, tiger hillstream loaches, bamboo shrimp, a betta, and 2 pairs of honey gouramis. There are some snails in the tank as well, not sure what kind, but the usual small ones that hitchhike by means of newly added plants.

Does anyone here have any idea what these eggs could be? I was reading various articles and loaches, cardinal tetras, and panda corys are supposedly spawners, so the eggs would not be stuck on a leaf at the top of the water like that. The betta and the gouramis are bubble-nest builders, but these transparent balls of goop did not look like bubble-nests at all. Maybe they're snail eggs? Some type of underwater fungi? Any further insight would be much appreciated! Thanks much!
