You should try to get your bichir and indo on prepared foods as they are cheeper and much better for your fish. Indos are very easy to get on prepared foods. I feed all my bichirs and datnoids all kinds of worms, shrimp, cut up tilapia, squid, and pellets.

What species is your bichir? how big is the indo?

I feed mine on white bait from the supermarket. Don't know the nutrional value, but have never had a problem with it. Just defrost the 30 mins before feeding.

sardines are bad for your water as they are very oily. Tilapia should be at most supermarkets and is very cheep and good for fish to eat. You can also buy frozen prawns (with out salt). Your dats will come out of hiding for food after not too long with out eating. Worst i ever had was 3 weeks with a thin bar. He begs for shrimp now.
