Dwarf Puffers to good home DFW TX

Pick up only, wont ship.

M/F pair...highly aggressive male.
Eats frozen bloodworms and snails happily.
Must know their needs and have them met prior to pick up (i.e. cycled tank that is 10g+, lots of plants -fake or real- and hiding spots).

I just got them last month, but in the past two weeks my life has gotten super super busy and exhausting, and the extra few minutes it takes to defrost their food, and keep up with snails, and the extra cleaning of their tank as they are messy fish is too much for me at the moment. And there is no light at the end of the tunnel for my busy schedule, so its unfair to the fish in my view to have a skipped tank cleaning or to only get fed every other day.

I dont want to take them back to the LFS, and will keep them and deal with their needs if a new home is not found.

I am not asking for anything for them, just that you come with two separate containers to take them home...the male will attack the female if in too small of a space...there use to be a 2nd female and he bit her face off and killed her last week.

PM me here on TFK if you are seriously interested and can provide their needs for them. Thanks.

Awww, that's too bad Amanda, but good for you realize what you can't do at the moment, to care for them. I'm glad now I did not get the GSP, because it does sound like too much work. I do now have my 2 adorable German Rams, and they are doing just great.

Thanks, Gwen.
Glad to hear you got the rams and that they are doing well. Did you go for a m/f pair, or two females?

Yeah, these puffs are a bit more than I realized. I mean, I knew going into it that they would require more work than my other tank and previous stock of the tank they are in... but geez... it is a lot more when you are doing it up to par, and the slightest slack and you feel so guilty. I guess that is why I have a chihuahua for a dog, and not an active lab or something.
These puffs dirty a 15g between the two of them in a week worse than my entire 29g gets in 2 months!!! It gets exhausting!!!
I need fish that are happy as flakes, pellets, or crisps as their staple food... I dont mind dealing with frozen food, on a treat basis though.

How are your latest cardinal tetra additions doing, Gwen?

I got a m/f pair of German Rams, and I'm happy they are not displaying any chasing or aggression. The second group of Cardinals are also doing well. I did not get from Petsmart, but from the LFS were I got my Rams. All seem happy and I'm very pleased my ph is staying at 6.3

I will likely keep adding a few more Cardinals, but I think I'll just stay with the 2 German Rams. My neighbor is moving and I'm getting her tank (about 25 gallons maybe 30), for free! She has a few random fish in it, can't remember what, but I'll take them too.

Sounds awesome!! Rams have been on my radar for a while now... thinking if I can find a home for the puffs I might do a solo blue ram in the 15g with a small shoal of cardinal tetras.I have no idea at the moment. The first goal is to find a home for these demanding puffers.

A free tank... now that is awesome!!! I am sure you are already thinking of what to put in there!!!
