Lonely fishie? I got a 10g tank for Christmas that used to have 2 kissing fishes, one died before the owner gave up on having fish. I am planning to get at least a 55gal for him, however I much prefer having several fishies, I did get a Dojo Loach today and they seem to be getting along just fine, any suggestions? Maybe another type of gourami or...meh i am just not sure. |
According to the profile on here: Compatibility/Temperament: Not a good general community fish. It may be kept in large aquaria with some of the larger barbs, non-aggressive cichlids, catfish such are the loricariids, etc. It should be kept in small groups to confine the aggression to conspecifics. As it grows it will eat fish smaller than itself, and consume the softer aquarium plants. Read more: Kissing Gourami (Helostoma temminkii ) Profile With that said do not add more fish until you get the bigger tank as the 10 is way to small for the Kissing Gourami much less more fish. Also do not mix this gourami with other gourami as they could fight. |
