is my lighting good enough for carpet anemone? i have a 60 gallon aquarium. Dimension 48 x 15 x 17. i have a coralife 48" t5 ho lighting fixture giving 54 watts of actinic and 54 watts of 10,000k daylight running for 9 hours a day. I am thinking of purchasing a electric green carpet anemone and was wondering if my lighting is sufficient enought. |

I was wondering the same thing. I just saw an awesome GCA at Petco...I was surprised they were carrying something so nice. KHACHO2 what else are you planning for this tank? |
That Carpet anemone can take over most of your tank if conditions are good though. I have seen some 2-3 ft across! They can get huge. |
how old is your tank? from what i hear you need a year or older tank to keep a anemone healthy. |

it really depends. be sure to place it at the highest point in the tank though |
. Found outside of the reef it resides in soft muddy or sandy substrate and can attain a size of up to 3 feet in diameter. This colorful Anemone is also referred to as Haddon’s Anemone, Saddle Anemone, Saddle Carpet Anemone, or Saddleback Anemone. Haddon's Carpet Anemone have short, blunt tentacles with a very potent sting, and can be distinguished from their close relatives Stichodactyla gigantea and Stichodactyla mertensii by the lack of any coloration, spots or markings on the underside of the anemone and down its column. |
