Intro + Question re. schooling fish...
I'm new to the board, not to new to the hobby. Looking forward to sharing some knowledge with you all...if needed, haha.
I have a 90 gallon tank that I want to set up with schooling fish ONLY. Ive had cichlid tanks, snakehead tanks, peacock bass tanks, etc. in the past, but i think that a tank that size filled with schooling fish would look really good!
I'm assuming that the obvious species to stock would be any tetras, but, do any of you have any other suggestions on species that would be suitable, as well as any tips/advice for me prior to this projet,

Cories school and are a gorgeous little fish, most barbs school as well. A large group of tiger barbs would be stuning IMHO.

Silver dollars, tiger barbs, and giant danios are the way i would go.

I've got a 90g for small community fish. One recommendation I would make is match the speed of the fish. If you want to do cories and such, stick with the calmer tetras such as cardinal, glowlight, and neon. Cherry barbs make a decent addition as well as hatchetfish and dwarf gouramis. A pair of rams would also be a good addition. :)

Also, consider pencilfish, glass catfish (both Asian and African, but these many be bigger than you want). If you do go for a more active tank, a half dozen striped loaches are a sight to behold when they get going. If you have deep pockets, Botia sidthimunki are more in the small schooling fish size range.
Hmm, Rainbowfish! There are the large ones that get around 4", but then there are the Dwarf Neons and threadfins that stay much smaller.
