Help ID-ing a Salamander, please?

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I went camping and happened upon a puddle swarming with tadpoles. I decided to scoop some up and throw 'em in an empty 10-gallon to see what would happen. I noticed one had big feathery gills, so I made sure to grab it. On the way home, I did a little research and discovered he's most likely some sort of salamander in the larval stage. I'm hoping to identify him more specifically to determine whether he will be able to stay in a 10-gallon or if I should make other plans. Here's what I do know about him:

- I collected him in the woods near Mt. St. Helens in western Washington.
- When I first got him he was very pale yellow-green with only front legs.
- It's been 2 weeks since and he is now approximately 3 inches, has all four legs, and is showing some dark brown or black marbling on his whole body.

I can't seem to get the picture to upload, but I'll try again later. Does anyone know what kind of salamander he could be?

Yeah that would be bad!

I tried looking it up and there are 14 species native to this area and I have 8 or so eliminated as possibilities but the last 6 could be it. I might just have to wait until he gets gets older
