About my eastern mosquito fish

About 3 days ago we were walking around and came upon a ditch and what we called minnows swimming around. We decided to grab a few and put them in our ten gallon tank (in that we have the aquatic frogs and a sucker fish)... but 1 of the fish died on the way back soo tough luck for that fish.. that knight we transfered them into our tank and all was good... this morning i awoke and i went to check on the fish i saw the mosquirto fish was giving birth.. our tank has plenty of cover but just to be on the safe side we put the babies in a seperate 1 1/2 gallon tank all is good ... but this afternoon i went to a pond near by and decided to snag one other fish idk what type of fish it is but the mosquito fish seem to accept it. but i did read that eastern mosquitofish do breed with other fish than there on kind so i was just wondering if they did mate what type of fish would they produce.. also if any one can list some small pond fish with pictures just to help me find what type of fish it is. I live in VA so fish around there the pond water is pretty warm.. i just would like to know if the mosquitofish would breed with it seeing as we have another 1 already pregnant and 1 that just gave birth to about 25 fry.

din't your frog take them for a snack  cute frog btw. minnows are live bearers and breeding within a close relative is not uncommon.

well, not to be a downer but i hope you checked your local laws on collecting. some areas collecting wildlife leads to fines and/or jail.
regardless of that, since you already have the fish, i hope you used a QT for them since they are coming directly from the wild.

for a better chance of ID, try to get a clear picture of a side view of the fish.
