Very nice! What kind of lighting is that and what is the lenght of the fixture? I have a 29 gallon and I was thinking of getting some different lights for it. Was thinking of getting a dual t5ho fixture for it but wasn't sure on the size I needed?

It's a 30 inch power compact flourescent fixture by Coralife. It has a single 65w bulb. I'm probably keeping it on 8 hours.

Coralife also makes a 36w dual t5ho fixture that is 30 inches too. I probably would have gotten that one instead if I had to do it again.

The t5ho's come with mounting legs, the power cf's do not, I had to buy them seperately.

Thanks alot for checking it out! :)

It's 3 pieces of driftwood piled together. Thank you. Since this was posted, the hygro is doing great, chains are good, the banana plants are ah meh not really flourishing yet but not getting worse at all, the tiger lotus is already growing, the only thing not doing so well are the vals which are breaking but I understand some people have problems with these plants. I may replace them with onion plants on each side. Those would grow to the top then fold over to the center and give me tank that framed look I am wanting.

yeah it happens sometimes even bryon seems to have that problem too

That Vall issue was in another thread, and now I've seen the photos, this is exactly what mine have done. I'll see if the slightly harder/basic water helps the one I moved over.

Had a thought on the Valls, on the left side I would move a couple around the back just at that corner. The way they are lined up on the left and right sides of the tank, it makes the rectangular box very obvious. A bit of tall green into the back on the left would i think help. The right side is OK because the wood goes up higher and the stem plant is around it.

Byron.

I will do that. Increase the FLourish to 2x a week. I may also take you up on your other suggestion. I just got new additions, so don't want to disturb the tank now as they're settling in.

I got 2 female gold gouramis, 2 micky mouse platies, 1 bumblebee catfish which I just cannot see to get a pic of at this time...hopefully later he comes out.

Careful with the T5HO's, they will likely be too much light if they are mounted right on the top and it's more than 1 tube. It is great initially, but then the algae starts if you don't shade the light or lift it off the tank. My experience anyway :-)

Back to this thread - the driftwood is really well set up!
