How do I know there are eggs in my tank?
 

It may sound daft but i just started and doubt my fish will breed yet but dont know what im looking for?

really depends on the species of fish. every species has breeding habits that you can see happening which will give you an idea if they are breeding or not. however, most need specific water parameters and food sources to induce breeding(spawning).

somtimes the eggs may not be clear the could be a light pink or an orange color but it depends on the species
