so i bought a new lighting system today it is the corallife compact florescent 36" deluxe lunar series but with the addition of the light i had to remove the wooden canopy will the water evaporate more now? if so can i put some plexiglass under the lights to help keep the evaporation down
Unless you have temps in the house that are steadily above 80 degrees F, you should not lose more than two or three gallons per week.(three gallon bucket is easy to handle)
Would not count topping off tank for evaporation as water change however. Not sayin you would,,,but some folks do.
