Uncommon Cories in Northern Virginia
Wanted to let anyone in the Northern Virginia or greater DC area know that I was just down at Centrrville Aquarium, and they got in some interesting cories. Looks like they have C. actuarus, C. metae or davidsandi, and what I think was C. aggassizii. I have not seen these available in the area before, so if anyone were looking for a local source, there's one.
Sorry for the possible appearance of the plug, but I figured the relative scarcity of these breeds in my experience warranted letting folks know.
Nice. I can't wait for pics.8) Coryologist will gladly help you.
I'm going to try to get together all my sterbas fry and and trade them in for a discount. Can't decide which yet, but leaning toward the Metae/Davidsandsi.
Correction to my earlier post: C. arcuatus: Skunk cory. Not C. actuartus, Bookeeper Cory (a wholly imaginary fish).
at my lfs they sell cories that they said glow in the dark or florescent. they said they were really rare but they wanted like 40 dollars for one.
Thanks for the info, tophat. I will have to stop by that store sometime and have a look!
lupin them are the ones
He's got some (At least one) of the Orange line ones like the greenbottle cories in the big display tank in the second storefront.
Netted up my baby Sterbas tonight and have them floating in a guppy breeder in their tank. I'm going to bring them down there tomorrow after work and see what he has left.
Got a half dozen Metaes. Definite ID, that, not davidsadsi.
I'm gonna head down there today in search for some C. Leucomelas!
