Good stuff, looks like you have some good parents, been thinking about getting a pair of these to breed. |
Thank you, they are great fish to own/breed and i would recommend them to anyone that has never owned cichlids before. Are you breeding Rams at the moment ? |
You have a very nice male and female... My pair just laid eggs 4 days ago 2nd batch. What do you feed you fry. I feed mine live bbs, eggyolk, and firstbites |
My first batch i fed first bite and infusoria together in a small tub then used a turkey baster to squirt it into the tank, however they didnt grow vey fast that way. 2nd and 3rd batch i use microworms and first bites and they have grown a lot quicker. I have tried boiled egg yolk but its very messy. |
Cool. i am splitting my 38 to breed angels and a pair of kribs, whats your opinion of it... |
ha ha ! Im doing the exact same! I just bought a 40 gallon breeder tank from petco during their $1 a gallon sale and i have 4 juvenile angels that were given to me but are old enough to breed now so im splitting the tank to breed the kribs and angels. I have no idea what sex the angels are (apparently its near impossible to tell) so its a gamble. Is it easy to hatch the BBS ? where do you get the eggs from ? |
Yeah hatching is really easy. I put the thing in my tank for warmth and then wait a day and take them out, feed and freeze. here is what I have Artemia Cultivation Units works great. My fish seem to be hating the divider right now I don't think I will be able to get away with them being okay with it. Maybe a pair of angels and kribs would get along... I just had a spark of my not uncommon genius, don't use the divider but in the middle make the plants so dense that can't go through... time to get more plants and a better bulb |

Are the microworms you are using just freezedried? I gave up on the bbs since I only have about 5 survivors and just sticking with first bites. |
Wow stunning pair of fish! Those kribs look amazing. Kribs are very good parents and they are known for taking care of their fry for a long time. |
