just an update on the tank
so we have a dalmation molly that got sick, he's all better now!
we have/had a pregnant sunburst platy that had babies today!!! i currently see 1 little fry hiding in the trees.
but i have a question, do i separate the fry and the others??
i have them all in 1 tank at the moment, with a stocking over the filter so my little "man" doesn't get sucked up :)
It is a good idea to seperate them! You can buy a small tank from a pet shop for the fry, and when I had my first lot of fry I bought liquid fish food in a little tube. If you have larger fish in your tank with the fry, they will try to eat them. I had a gourami trying to eat my guppy fry once, I had to wave my hand in front of the glass to separate them.
Good luck with the baby fishies!
If you want to keep the fry I would separate them into a fry tank, but if you don't mind letting nature take its course, then I would leave them there. I always left it up to Mother Nature and there were always a fair few fry that survived being eaten by the other fish. There will probably be a lot more fry to come.
