Plants without a light?
My wife and I are looking into getting some plants and were thinking to start with our newest tank, as it will be empty when we drop the goldfish currently in it at the LFS tomorrow. The problem is theres no light on this tank. It's directly opposite our patio door, across a 20' room, there a good size window about 5' away on the one side, and it's underneath our dining room fan/light. (Yeah our "dining room" is now the fish tank area, including the table) So it wouldn't be completly light devoid but it wouldn't get too much either.
Any plant species this might work for? Water is moderatly hard (gh is about 180ppm), with a ph in the mid-high 7's.
Unless the tank is right next to a window, few plants will do much. Anubias might, maybe Java Fern.
