pH Buffer with NO PHOSPHATES! Does anyone know of a water buffer like API Proper pH 7 that doesn't contain Phosphates? |

You stated on Sunday 6/26 that you have added aragonite or coral to your filter, this will take time to work (days) and thankfully so. Otherwise a rapid change in hardness along with ph would be stressful to lethal for your fish. Cloudiness of water you spoke of in earlier post could be caused by different factors such as bacteria bloom in newly set up tank, overfeeding, overstocking, underfiltered tank,or not rinsing gravel before placing it in the tank, or not rinsing coral, aragonite added to filter. Phosphate is added by many who keep planted tanks on nearly daily basis (see estimative index dosing) and does not cause cloudy water or algae directly. |
I know that but i have to buffer my tap water because it is to high for water changes. The only buffer i could find without phosphates is API Prpoer ph 8.2. i need something around 7 that doesnt have phosphates!!!!!!!! |
Also on on the bottle as well as the website, API tells you not to use the Proper pH 7 with planted aquariums. |
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. |
I need help in the same area. I have a 50 gallon with a PH of 8.2. i can not lower it, no matter what i try. does anyone have any suggestions? It comes out of my tap this way! |

Hello and welcome to TFK :-D Depending on the type of fish you are keeping your ph may actually be fine. For natural ways to lower your ph please read the following article http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/f...quarium-73276/ ph is related to hardness in the water and depending on what your carbon hardness is will depend on how easily your ph will adjust. This article will explain in more detail, and please do not use chemicals to try to adjust your ph, because this can lead to shifts in the ph which will actually be even more harmful to your fish. |
