55 gallon pump

Hi folks,
I got a 55 gallon kit from Aqueon and it came with a 55 gallon pump for it. The pump hangs over the back...its called a Aqueon Quietflow. I'd like to keep small fish like Platy, danios, cory cats etc. However, the pump creates a LOT of tubulence. I was wondering if the little fish can manage.
Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
~Ami

I think you must mean the filter for the 55g tank.
Consider making a simple water bottle baffle to redirect the flow - I use them and they work great!

Yeah, my filter and pump are a single unit. The water output splashes on the surface after being filtered.
I am a newbie...only 3 months old in fish-keeping. So here's the question:
What is a baffle? And how can I make one?

Thanks,
Ami

I included a link with step by step instructions on how to cut a water bottle to use as a baffle. The baffle changes/redirects the water flow along the back wall of the tank, thereby minimizing the current in the rest of the tank. It works very well and the cost can't be beat!

Oh yeah...I completely missed it.
Thanks a bunch !
