New to plants.
 

I have a 55 and i would like to plant it with some inexpensive plants the only problem is that i have a few residents in the tank that might like the plants a little to much.

4 Silver dollars and from what i understand they can eat a planted tank in a weekor 2. They school with a 5 inch and a ten inch tinfoil barbs. any sujestions.

I did not have any problems with my cryps keeping with Silver Doller.

now with amazon swords will plecos eat them or for that matter kill anything else that you have sujested

my tank includes:
black ghost knife
pictus catfish
pleco
silver dollars
tinfoil barbs
Again are these plants sutible with everyone in the tank?

I will try to synopsize this tread and then set forth some of my own experience.

1) The plants which the forum members have recommended and which the silver dollars "will not bother" are:
Java Ferns
Anubias
Crypts and
Camboba
Beyond these plants the forum members do not seem to have any experience which they feel comfortable in recommending with respect to your silver dollars.

2) With respect to these plants I know from experience that the
silver dollars
will not bother them.

BTW:
I have two types of plecos which do not bother my plants but I have read that plecos do.

Thank you i had just read that some silver dollars faverite plant to eat was Cabomba so i think some java fern or amazon sword.
Once again thankyou this website has been such a help as i am only 8-9 months experience and knowledge is the best weapon. ;)
