Jack Dempsey Cichlid Fry... Please Help!!!!!!
So I have a 55 Gallon tank. 2 Jack Dempsey Cichlids(5 inch), and 1 firemouth cichlid(3-4 inch). This is the second time my JD's have had a brood. The first time, the fry looked like they were living fine, but the brood seemed to be shrinking day by day. Then one day, I caught the Firemouth sucking them up one after another. This time I don't want the same thing to happen. I have a 10 gallon breeder tank I use for guppies. So I put the Firemouth in with them, which has several baby guppies in it, I'm not concerned about losing the baby guppies, as they are just food anyway. However, my Firemouth looks miserable, and all the guppies are scared out of there mind, just huddled at the top of the tank in the corner. What should I do? Any help would be much appreciated.
Tank divider in the 55 gallon, should be less stressful for all the fish, just make sure its doesn't leave any gaps for the fry to go on the wrong side.
