Hello Again!

Hey folks!

I used to be a regular on these forums, but time, a lack of money, moving house and losing internet use all contributed to me having to shut down my tanks and retreat to a fish-less (and forum-less) life for some years. Well, now I'm settled and have decided to get back in the game. I am pulling my smallest tank from the cupboard and going nano, at least for now, so any ideas for interesting and unusual fish/décor/inverts for a 55l tank are welcomed, so far all it's got in there is water...

Cheers,

Toby.

Wow 373 posts for a newbie!! That's a feat! Glad you found your way back!! How many tanks are in that cupboard anyway????

Well, upon a time I ran 4 tanks, but there's only a solitary 30g gathering dust until I either make room in my flat or my sister steals, whichever comes sooner... I'm a bit rusty having not had anything up and running for a couple years now, but I'm quite chuffed with the simple little set up I've got on the counter, so tjhat'll keep me going for now...

well 55l is a good simple size to start. Do you have specifics on what you would like to keep? Also do you know what you have in terms of equipment like lights, heater, fitler capacity, etc? A 15g has limited options so it would be easier for us to offer suggestions.

I've put a thread up in the Freshwater bit about what I'm thinking of putting in there, but I'm pretty happy with things in terms of equipment, I might need to get a new light bulb for the plants, as the one in there is a few years old, but as all that is in there so far is Java fern we should be all right for now, heater is new as the old one didn't survive the move, so not expecting any problems there, I've always gone for over filtration so the filter is rated for up to 240l, which should do nicely!

I was thinking pygmy cories, some rasboras and a few cherry shrimp, for a simple colourful look. When I said I was rusty I meant that in the few years that I've not been doing this all sorts of interesting new stuff seems to have become available, so if anyone can think of anything interestingly unusual feel free to chip in!
