Hi, i'm a new member with an empty tank :BIGweepy:..lol..someone gave us a used 33 gallon 'tall Hexagon tank w/ the lid (which is a little warped, might need a new one...?).... I live on a' non- moving' Houseboat here in the Keys.8-) ..... I had a 55 gallon freshwater tank about 7 yrs ago. This is my 1st Hex...so if anyone could help by telling me what type of filtration and heating sytem i need that would be great! I can't wait to get my new tank going. Glad i found this site.Thank you!!!

You can really get any filtration you want as long as it is made for the volume of water your tank has (33 gallon). I personally have a internal U2 Fluval filter in my 24gwhich works quite well, the U3 model would do your tank fine.
And you only need heating with tropical fish, there are coldwater fish and sub tropical fish where you need no heater :) As long as your room temperature is fair. You don't live anywhere especially cold right?

Welcome to TFK! I'm sure that empty tank will not remain that way for long! For now, just visualize the great fish that'll be swimming it soon enough:-D
