Spawning German Blue Rams
I have a pair of German Blue Rams that are spawning in my 60 gal tank. I created a divider from a window screen. The couple are the only things on the other side of the screen for now. They have about 20+ gal to themselves. This is the first time I've had an fish spawn. I know my odd are probably slim for the eggs to make it to the adult stage, but any advice toy help my odds?
When the eggs hatch, the fry will need food. Some will be readily available in the tank, especially if there are live plants and the tank is not new but established. But this microscopic plankton and such won't last for ever. There are preparations of fry food available in stores, I personally have never tried them, but they might be useful at first. The best new food for cichlid fry is newly hatched brine shrimp. I used this for my Apistogramma and angelfish fry.
