Unexpected Celestial Pearl Danio survivor
I am not sure what happened but my CPD's in my nano had a fry that has gone unnoticed due to it being heavily planted. It seems like they were sucked up into the canister filter.. poor little things. Fast forward to today when I got fed up of looking at my filthy acrylic pipes and decided to clean them and the canister. I pour out the contents into a bucket and there is this little swimming thing that catches my eye. I caught it and transferred into a little container and it is now in my main tank in the container where the water is at least heated. I can only imagine the horrible conditions in that canister! This little thing is beyond first stage and you can see its little eyes and all. Quite active for now, I am trying to figure out what to do though.

Try crushed flake.
The advantage to living in the canister was probably the abundance of live foods... bacteria, maybe cyclops, etc.

Oh he has friends. This morning while I was doing my feeding routine I noticed four more darting in and out of the moss so there are others hiding in there really well. :)

Maybe I'll have to teach you how to ship fish... We could trade something.

Good timing.. I just received a shipment of Amano shrimp and have the box they were shipped in. It is insulated with foam core surround and they use Kordon breather bags so I am sure I can reuse those? They are still unopened and it is on my desk waiting till I get home later. I can do my best not to damage the bags. Not like I rip through them either..

They are very sweet.

sounds good. let me know when they get a bit older. (Keep an eye out for 'bag buddies'.. They work well to add to the water to neutralise ammonia and sedate the fish)
